with ambitious goals.
In principle, the keeping of show jumper horses is no different from the keeping of other sport and leisure horses.
When it comes to the design of training facilities, however, the requirements for show jumping are special.
The indoor arena should be wider than the standard 20 metres. Outdoor arenas should be large enough to allow a course to be set up. Special demands are also placed on the ground.
Obstacles should be located close to the riding surfaces in an obstacle arena.
This allows the show jumper to put together a suitable course for all difficulty levels.

To familiarise young horses with jumping without rider weight and to exercise older horses, the size of the indoor arena should be large enough to allow safe loose jumping.
Safety for horse and rider – the number 1 for outdoor training & show jumping competitions.

show jumping competitions.
The outdoor jumping arena should also be planned large enough so that tournaments and events can also be held there if necessary.
The quality of the footing plays an important role in indoor show jumping arenas and outdoor arenas in order to ensure a sure-footed and non-slip course.
“The company “EQUUS DESIGN PLANUNG” was a reliable support in the realisation of my riding facility in Münster – Mauritz. From the approval planning to the building application – Lothar Bruns and his team always worked in a solution-orientated, consistent and sustainable manner, so that I am always happy to come back to him.”

Dressage facilities
for the most elegant form of equestrian sport.
Dressage is the basis of classical riding.
Depending on the horse’s disposition, the basic training is followed by specialisation to become a dressage horse.
This training scale requires the best training centres and training facilities.
In addition to a dressage arena with riding dimensions of 20/40, or even better 20/60, other training facilities such as a lunging arena, horse walker, canter track and outdoor riding arena should not be missing, as in any other riding centre.

A high-quality outdoor dressage arena is also part of a good riding centre for dressage riders.
In the outdoor arena, the horse acquires the calm and composure that is expected in dressage competitions, from beginners’ courses to Grand Prix.
Piaffe, traversal, pirouette and passage are trained here under different conditions than in the indoor arena.
A symphony of

“When horse and rider seem to merge into one living being and move across the arena in unison like a well-rehearsed dancing couple – then the highest goal of dressage riding has been achieved: equestrian sport becomes equestrian art.”

When lifestyle and horsemanship come together, we are talking about western riding. Cool guys and easy-going horses need a particularly wide range of training opportunities to be able to practise all facets of these versatile disciplines.

For all facets of western riding.
A western riding arena for sliding in reining is not a dressage arena. A round pen for join-up and basic training of young horses is not a lunging circle.
EQUUS DESIGN PLANUNG knows the differences. With cattle disciplines such as cutting and working cowhorse, we must not forget the cattle in the planning.

Horse driving sport
Top training through the course, on the dressage arena and in the field.
In recent years, carriage riding has experienced a great renaissance. Whether in single, pair or four-in-hand carriages, sulkies, hunting carriages, stagecoaches or classic covered wagons: carriage fans are passionate about the sport and the number is growing all the time. Many of them enjoy competing at tournaments and need suitable training facilities, such as driving arenas for dressage and cross-country driving, including water obstacles and the like.
A paradise for fans of the
horse driving, which leaves
nothing to be desired.
A paradise for fans of the horse driving, which leaves nothing to be desired.
Driving combines tradition and sport, and this applies to obstacle driving as well as dressage. The requirements for driving facilities differ considerably from those for equestrian sports. Harnessing area, harness room, driving arena and carriage shed are no foreign words for the EQUUS DESIGN PLANUNG team.
Riding clubs
A meeting place for horse lovers and the start of many equestrian careers.
For many horse lovers, riding clubs are the hub of their hobby and often the start of their professional riding careers. Many start their riding career at an early age and later remember the wonderful years in the riding club and countless wonderful experiences and friendships with horses and other riders.
Many top athletes earned their spurs on school horses in the club. Almost everyone has stories to tell about their first riding lessons, their favourite school horse, their first riding badges, tournaments or skill competitions.

The club keeps private horses as well as school and training horses. The training horses in particular deserve great appreciation. They are not only instructors, but also often best friends and real top service provider in the club.
In addition to the day-to-day running of the club with riding lessons, vaulting and individual riding, riding clubs are regular venues for competitions.

In Germany, the practical and theoretical examinations for most riding badges are also held at the riding club. In addition to large stables, riding clubs also need appropriate riding halls, riding arenas and training rooms.
A tack shed, manure store, trailer and car parking spaces complete the club’s facilities.

Social interaction and conviviality are very important to the riding club. For many riders, club life is just as important as spending time with the horse.
Riding clubs therefore also need their own premises for parties, general meetings, board work or birthdays.
EQUUS DESIGN PLANUNG will be happy to help you plan your riding club. You can see what is possible here, for example, in our customer project for the Amelsbüren riding club.
